The FunRun Südwestpark is an evening road race held in Südwestpark, a business park located in the Gebersdorf district of Nuremberg, Germany. The event features a 5 km run, a 9.9 km run, a children’s and school run, and Nordic walking. This variety attracts workplace runners, families, walkers, and regular club runners, rather than a single type of competitor. Südwestpark Management GmbH organizes the event, with its rules emphasizing the enjoyment of sport together.
The setting is notably practical: the course is within a 14-hectare business park on the west bank of the Main-Danube Canal. The park includes offices, green areas, restaurants, sports and fitness facilities, a hotel, a supermarket, medical services, childcare, and parking garages. Südwestpark, established in the early 1990s, now hosts around 230 companies and over 8,000 jobs, giving the run a connection to a working district rather than a stadium or city center. Runners require an official, non-transferable bib worn on their shirt's front. Participants should be fit for the chosen distance and adhere to the organizer’s instructions.
