HaWei50 is a 50 km ultra around the Hardtsee in Ubstadt-Weiher, Baden-Wurttemberg. The start and finish are at the Hardtsee Leisure Center on Seeweg. Runners complete ten 5 km laps, beginning in the morning. Shorter 5 km and 10 km races utilize the same loop in the evening. The course is entirely flat, officially measured by WA/AIMS, and qualifies for ranking lists. This makes it suitable for runners aiming for a specific 50 km time and those attempting the distance for the first time.
The loop remains compact around the lake, featuring no road crossings. Parking, toilets, and showers are situated near the start and finish. Spectator paths allow companions to see and encourage runners at least twice per lap, which is significant in a race with ten repetitions of the 5 km loop. Laufsportgemeinschaft Weiher e.V. organizes the event. This runners-for-runners club offers flexible registration with no tiered pricing, free changes to name or distance, late online entry, and free cancellation until the Sunday before the race. The event is also part of the DUV Cup. The HaWei by night side event provides a distinct opportunity for runners and supporters to view the Hardtsee after dark.
