The Sudenburg-Lauf is a road running event in Magdeburg, Germany, taking place on Halberstädter Straße in the Sudenburg district. It occurs in June and features four distances: 11 km, 4.4 km, 1 km, and 400 m, catering to regular runners, beginners, schoolchildren, and young children. The event is part of the Elbe-Ohre-Cup and is organized by Sudenburg bewegt e.V.
The shortest race is a 400 m children’s run, followed by a 1 km taster run before the 4.4 km and 11 km main races commence later in the morning. The race was first held in 2003 and is known by the nickname “the run with the smile.” Registration is available for late planners and early entrants, with options for online entry, sign-up on the evening before the race, and on-site registration on race morning.
