Havkraft - Årøsund til Assens 2026

Havkraft - Årøsund to Assens is a 13 km open-water swim across the Little Belt in Denmark, from Årøsund on Jutland to Assens on Funen. It takes place in August and is organized around teams using support boats, with each boat carrying up to five swimmers and one observer. At least one swimmer must remain in the water for the entire crossing, though a team may opt to swim together rather than rotating. The crossing typically lasts three to five hours, contingent on weather conditions. Swimmers should be comfortable with a minimum of 2000 meters of continuous open-water swimming. The route follows a stretch of water formerly used by passenger ferries and may involve strong currents and ship traffic; therefore, visible caps, tow floats, and support boats are mandatory. The event commences with check-in and breakfast at Assens Harbor, proceeds with a boat transfer to the Jutland start point, and concludes back in Assens with a barbecue and social gathering.
