The Carrera Popular de Brenes is a participatory road race held in Brenes, a town in Spain’s Seville province. Its race hub is located on Paseo José Fernández Vega, near the RENFE station. The main adult race begins at midday and spans 9 km. The morning is dedicated to school races for younger age groups. The event is organized by the Ayuntamiento de Brenes and is now in its thirty-ninth year.
The adult course remains within Brenes, utilizing asphalt streets and finishing at the Paseo José Fernández Vega start-finish area. Children compete in shorter races, ranging from 200 meters to 2.1 km, with categories from the youngest “pitufos” up to cadetes. Entry fees are low, with distinct prices for adults and children. Organizers strictly prohibit race-day registration. The day concludes with a trophy ceremony.
