Cresta del Gallo Running Day

The Cresta del Gallo Running Day is a 12-kilometer mountain race held in Los Garres, Murcia region, Spain. The start and finish are located on Calle Antonio Ramírez in the Barrio de San José. The event takes place in October and includes two options for the 12K distance: a competitive Trail 12K and a non-competitive Senderismo (hiking) 12K. The route covers approximately 650 meters of elevation gain within its short distance, presenting a steep trail course rather than a flat road race. The hiking group begins earlier, preceding the trail race. This structure accommodates participants seeking a timed result and those preferring to hike the hills at a more relaxed pace. The Municipal Board of Los Garres, in conjunction with FAMU, organizes the event, which honors the Memorial José Luis Graña Latorre and has been held across multiple recent seasons.
