Infinitri 226 Triathlon Peñíscola is a full-distance triathlon held in Peñíscola, a coastal town in Castellón, Spain, typically in early October. The race consists of a 3.8 km swim, a long bike course, and a 42 km run, placing it in Ironman-style distance rather than short-course triathlon. Organized by Infinitri and promoted as “The Infinite Triathlon,” it challenges athletes on fast but demanding circuits through the sea, beach, town, and adjacent natural areas.
The setting provides the race its distinct character: Peñíscola’s old citadel is situated near the course, meaning athletes race through more than just a standard resort route. Participants can compete solo or as part of a team, broadening the event’s appeal beyond full-distance specialists. Recent editions have attracted a significant international field, with approximately 22% of participants coming from outside Spain. Overseas winners have included Belgium’s Timothy Van Houtem and Finland’s Maisa Tulimieni.
