Reventón is a trail running series held in El Paso, on La Palma in Spain’s Canary Islands. Races range from an 8 km Starter to a 71 km Ultra Trail Marathon. The event, also known as Reventón Trail El Paso, carries a name that suits its nature: “reventón” implies bursting or complete exhaustion, offering a more accurate description of the race profile than any marketing term.
Runners can select from Starter, Sprint, Classic, Marathon, or Ultra distances, accommodating both novice trail runners and experienced mountain specialists over the same weekend. The course crosses La Palma’s volcanic terrain, featuring black dirt, ash, and rock underfoot. The event also includes the phrase “Subida a Las Estrellas,” meaning “Climb to the Stars.” Recent victors in the longer races include Azara García, Lucien Epiney, Mario Olmedo, and Claudia Mola.
