The San Silvestre Barakaldesa is a 6 km race in Barakaldo, Vizcaya, held on New Year’s Eve for San Silvestre Day. Sociedad Ciclista Barakaldesa organizes it as a year-end event with three separate races: an Inclusion race, a Txikis race for children aged 0 to 12, and an Absolute race open to all ages.
More than 600 children participate in the Txikis and Inclusion categories, while the Absolute race attracts over 2,100 runners. The same organizers also manage a school duathlon for ages 6 to 16, featuring a run, a bike leg, and a final run, offering younger athletes a second event centered on the same end-of-year sports day in Barakaldo.
