Ultra Trail Serra De Montsant

Ultra Trail Serra de Montsant is a series of mountain trail races held in Ulldemolins, within Catalonia, Spain's Priorat region. Participants run through the Serra de Montsant Natural Park, with race lengths varying from approximately 7 km for shorter trail runs to 86-90 km for ultra-distance routes. The event is part of the Costa Daurada's autumn schedule, offering both novice and seasoned mountain runners a shared trail running weekend. The routes traverse the park’s rugged trails and steep inclines, meaning even the shorter races involve significant elevation gain. Specific options include a 25 km route with roughly 1,263 m of ascent, a 44 km route with approximately 2,343 m, and a 63 km route with about 3,470 m. Naturetime Events established the race in 2009 to guide runners through the Serra de Montsant landscape, situated between the Mediterranean coast and the mountains. The participant list is international; recent events have featured runners from 21 countries, with foreign participants comprising about 15% of the field and women around 32%.
