The Zenagas Trail begins at the Complejo de la Dehesa Boyal, located in the pine forest area of Puertollano, accessible from the Puertollano-Mestanza road. This event in Ciudad Real offers a mountain running weekend featuring a 30 km main trail race with 1600 m of elevation gain, a 15 km Zenaguillas race with 600 m of climbing, and a 7 km Mini Trail designed for children and cadets. The event is part of the Trail Series Ciudad Real and also contributes points towards the Castilla-La Mancha Cup and the regional club championship for mountain running.
The weekend is structured with hiking on Saturday and trail racing on Sunday. Hikers can select an 11 km non-competitive route, part of the FEDME Hiking League, which includes 400 m of climbing, or opt for a family hike of approximately 7 km, guided along the way. This hiking route allows participants to proceed at their own pace. The racing component is more challenging, particularly the 30 km Zenagas race. It features significant elevation within a short mountain course, attracting club runners competing for regional points, alongside local trail runners and younger participants in the Mini Trail.
