The 100 km de Metz Métropole is an ultrarunning race held in Metz, Moselle, France, each mid-September. Its core challenge is straightforward yet demanding: the full race consists of 25 laps around a 4 km loop. This format requires participants to navigate the same paths repeatedly while covering 100 km on foot. The event also features a 50 km solo race and a 100 km relay for teams of two to ten runners.
The loop follows pedestrian paths around the Plan d'eau messin and the Parc du Grand Pâtural, situated in a green space approximately five minutes' walk from the city center. Relay teams begin with the 100 km solo participants, sharing the initial 12 laps. This setup allows shorter-distance runners to engage with the long-distance event's atmosphere. Athlétisme Metz Métropole organizes the race, which attracts solo ultrarunners, relay teams, and individuals using the 50 km as a progression beyond marathon distance.
