Les Courses des Marins are the eight running races that make up L’Ultra Marin around the Golfe du Morbihan in Brittany. Organized by L’Ultra Marin Raid Golfe du Morbihan since 2005, the event spans four days and involves approximately 10,000 competitors on routes ranging from 12 km to 175 km, offering choices for individual runners and relay teams.
The races traverse hiking paths surrounding the bay. The longest, the Grand Raid, circumnavigates the gulf over 175 km, with other formats including 100 km, 70 km, and 56 km. Participants follow the coastline, observe the gulf's numerous islands, encounter local flora and fauna, and complete a boat crossing as part of the race. Approximately 1,500 volunteers assist with the event, which has now been held over twenty times.
