La Flèche Bisontine

La Flèche Bisontine is a road cycling event in Besançon, located in the Doubs department of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté. It takes place in late April, offering participants two single-loop route options: 90 km or 130 km. The name translates to “The Bisontine Arrow,” and the event’s tagline, “You are the arrow,” reflects the straightforward nature of this distance-focused road challenge. The course combines cycling through Besançon with stretches in more open natural landscapes, extending beyond a purely urban circuit. The 130 km loop is the more frequently chosen option. Following the ride, a notable local landmark is the Citadel of Besançon, a UNESCO World Heritage fortress overlooking the city.
