La Voironnaise is a December city-center road race in Voiron, run as an urban corrida rather than a quiet point-to-point race. Organized by ALV Athlétisme, it starts in the heart of town and draws enough demand that all bibs sold out for its thirteenth edition.
The route keeps runners inside central Voiron, with experienced athletes and amateur runners sharing the same streets. Supporters bring horns, bells, signs, drums, applause, and shouted encouragement, giving the race a loud, festive feel that keeps people coming back. ALV Athlétisme mobilized 110 volunteers for the thirteenth edition, and part of the entry fees goes to Arsla, which fights Charcot's disease.
