Every Ascension Thursday, Les Foulées de Haguenau begins at the Halle aux Houblons in Haguenau, located in France’s Grand Est region. The event features six races: 5 km and 10 km road races form the main events, complemented by a 5 km Nordic walk, city trail options, and children’s races. It caters to beginners, club runners, walkers, families, and competitive runners seeking a chip-timed short-distance event rather than a full-day endurance challenge.
The courses are set within the city, with all races commencing from the Halle aux Houblons start area. The 10 km route includes a refreshment stop midway, and both the 5 km and 10 km races offer drinks at the finish line. The most recent edition attracted over 1,000 participants, with more than 400 in the 5 km trail race. A local tradition is the post-race refreshments: pretzels, cake, coffee, and drinks. The event also supports a cause: for every 5 km and 10 km registration, organizers donate 2 euros to Terre Fraternité, an organization assisting wounded soldiers, their families, and families of fallen soldiers; over the past ten years, donations have totaled 25,000 euros.
