About
The Foulées Éco-solidaires, a running and walking event, takes place in June in Schiltigheim, near Strasbourg, starting at the Espace Européen de l’Entreprise. The schedule features timed road races: a half marathon for solo runners or two-person teams, and 10 km and 5 km races certified by the FFA. A costumed fun run, a leisurely walk, and children’s races of 3000 m, 1500 m, and 500 m are also included, allowing families and casual participants to share the morning with competitive club runners.
The event supports solidarity groups, with funds directed to associations such as L’Alsace contre le cancer, Les Enfants de Marthe, ELA, and Les Foulées de l’Espoir. Approximately 2,000 runners are anticipated, following a previous edition that attracted around 1,800 participants. Since 2021, the race has combined athletic activity with fundraising and environmental goals, earning an eco-event designation. A local tradition, the Challenge du Nombre, allows groups of friends, colleagues, or family to compete for a trophy based on their collective participation.
