Rallye de la Pomme is an October cycling rally held at the Salle des fêtes in Maclas, a village in the Loire department near Mont Pilat. It is a cyclotourism event, not a single race, offering road bike, mountain bike, and gravel routes. Participants typically select shorter routes of about 25 or 55 km, or more challenging routes from 40 to 85 km, accommodating both leisurely rides and demanding climbs within the same afternoon.
The routes traverse roads and tracks around Maclas and the Pilat foothills. The easier options involve approximately 700 m of elevation gain, while the longer road or gravel routes reach about 1,400 m. Departures are scheduled for midday or early afternoon. The event is organized by local cycling clubs, including Vélo Club Maclas, with connections to the North Ardèche and Pilat mountain-bike community. Entry fees are reasonable, with reduced rates for licensed riders and discounted or free entry for those under 18, depending on their license status.
