Sainté Trail Urbain is an urban trail race held in Saint-Étienne, located in France’s Loire department and Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, during early November. It features three city distances: 13 km, 24 km, and 35 km. The 13 km race, La traVERTsée, is the most popular, having attracted over 900 runners previously. The 24 km La renVERTsante drew more than 500 participants, and the 35 km La VERTigineuse saw over 200.
The course stays within the city limits, incorporating paved streets and stair sections rather than a traditional countryside trail. A notable landmark on the route is Stade Geoffroy Guichard, Saint-Étienne’s football stadium, known as Le Chaudron. The available distances cater to both novice runners and those seeking a longer urban trail experience. The event highlights Saint-Étienne, with participants encouraged to discover the city, the surrounding region, and local cuisine post-race.
