Trail de la Penzé is a trail-running and walking event held at the sports hall in Guiclan, Finistère, Brittany. It is organized in early June by Les Trotteurs et Marcheurs de la Penzé, an association of runners and walkers from the communes of Guiclan, Saint-Thégonnec, and Guimiliau. The event offers a 12 km trail suitable for most runners, a 25 km trail for experienced competitors, and guided walks of approximately 8 to 10 km. The walks depart as a group on an unmarked route at a controlled pace.
The course begins and ends at the Guiclan sports hall, utilizing the Vallée de l’Horn and the Penzé valley. It is mostly off-road, passing through woods, farm tracks, and riverbanks, with about 90% on trails and 10% on roads. The route includes hills and some challenging sections; the longer race features more climbing and two aid stations, while the shorter race and walks have one. Now in its twentieth edition, the event maintains a local club atmosphere, with men's and women's podiums for both trail races, followed by a buffet and aperitif. One euro from each registration is donated to a medical research or humanitarian charity, with the Fondation du Souffle being a recent recipient.
