The Trail de la Vallée Baumoise begins and ends in Baume-les-Dames, a town in the Doubs department of eastern France, within the historic Franche-Comté region. This summer trail-running event, organized by Team Spirit Sport, offers short, challenging mountain-style courses instead of a single set distance. Participants can select from 8 km with 300 m elevation gain, 14 km with 450 m, 24 km with 750 m, or 34 km with 1,000 m. Even the shortest adult race requires significant climbing.
The race names indicate the character: the 8 km is named “Fast and Furious,” the 14 km “Short and Hard,” the 24 km “No pain, No gain,” and the 34 km “Up and down.” The longer course highlights the Doubs valley, while the shorter ones focus on concentrated trail running and technical sections. The event also includes races for children: 500 m, 700 m, 1 km, and 2 km, which come with refreshments and gifts. A recent edition saw approximately 1,200 runners and 120 volunteers, and the program features the Challenge Moyne, Doubs terre de trail.
