Trail des 3 Pics is a late-June mountain trail series held near Arbas in Haute-Garonne, in the French Pyrenees adjacent to the Ariège regional natural park. The races are set in the Arbas massif, at the base of Pic de Paloumère. The program includes the 12 km T3P-S with 710 m of elevation gain and the 56 km T3P-XL with 3800 m of gain. The intermediate distances are also challenging: the T3P-M spans 22.5 km with 1410 m of gain, and the T3P-L covers 34 km with 2200 m of gain.
The long course runs south towards the Cornudères ridges, entering the Ariège regional natural park and following the Bouigane river, offering expansive views of the Couserans mountains and the Pyrenees. The 34 km route begins in Arbas, ascends through the Campas woods and Planot de Loubat to the Fontaine de l’Ours, then proceeds to the RoquePi cabin, col des Passagers at 1470 m, col de Portet-d’Aspet, and the Bouigane valley. The 22.5 km race, previously known as la Cornudère, climbs the Tuc de Haurade, Tuc du Tucol, and Pic de Cornudère. It provides views toward Paloumère, Cagire, Gar, and Pic du Midi before a singletrack descent through forests. The region is home to bears, and the Pays de l’Ours-Adet association is involved in bear conservation; two children's races, 500 m and 1000 m, are also offered.
