Trail des Tordus 2026

Trail des Tordus is a July trail-running series in Verzenay, a village in the Marne near Reims, in France’s Grand Est region. It is a “vigne trail,” meaning the race is set within Champagne-country vineyards, not high mountains. The programme offers runners several options: short youth races, a 12 km mini trail, a roughly 25 km main trail, a 50 km long race, plus Nordic walking and hiking routes. The main trail carries a UTMB Index 20K label. The routes traverse Marne vineyards and forest paths within the Parc Naturel de la Montagne de Reims. A local characteristic is literal: the area hosts the faux de Verzy, peculiar twisted beech trees that lend the race its name and atmosphere. The longer race covers approximately 50.8 km with 1,295 m of elevation gain, while the standard Tordu is about 25.5 km with 705 m of climbing, indicating it is more than a simple vineyard jog. E.F.S.R.A. organizes the event, and recent results indicate a mid-sized field, not a large city-race crowd.
