Trail du Grésivaudan is a mountain trail race in Isère, starting from Lumbin near Grenoble in late February. The main event is approximately 30 km, beginning at the Plaine des Sports on Chemin des Longs Prés and proceeding from Lumbin toward Grenoble. It involves significant climbing rather than flat running; the long course features about 1,600 metres of ascent and a similar amount of descent, varying by source and format.
The programme offers runners several ways to approach the terrain. The 30 km can be completed solo or as a relay for two or three participants. Additionally, there is a shorter 8 km trail option starting from Grenoble, and an 8 km hike for those seeking the mountain environment without the competitive intensity. The course crosses the Grésivaudan valley’s mountain and forest paths, presenting a concise winter trail event with steep sections, team participation possibilities, and vistas of the Isère landscape.
