The U3C, or Ultra Crazy Cross de Champagnier, begins at the Espace des 4 vents in Champagnier, close to Grenoble. This late-afternoon cross-country running event offers two race options: a 10 km long course and a 6 km short course, along with a 4 km walk for those seeking the atmosphere without the competition.
The event, now in its 13th edition, prioritizes enjoyment over a subdued, serious race atmosphere. Organizers characterize it as the most festive cross in the region, featuring a purposefully energetic animation team and abundant good humor. It also benefits LOCOMOTIVE, an association supporting children with leukemia and cancers, their families, and the Grenoble hospital service; one euro from each registration is donated to the charity.
