Ultra Trail des 2 Roches is a trail-running weekend held in Davayé, Saône-et-Loire, offering races from 11 km to 103 km. It takes place in early July, with options including short daytime trails, a 42 km night marathon, and a long semi-nocturnal ultra. The most demanding route ascends approximately 3,900 metres, and even the 11 km race includes about 500 metres of elevation gain.
The courses traverse the Beaujolais and Mâconnais vineyards, concluding near the Solutré and Vergisson rocks, the two landmarks that give the race its name. The 22 km, 42 km, and 103 km races are eligible for UTMB Index points, attracting runners seeking mountain-running qualifications alongside local trail runners aiming for a challenging summer course. The Club Alpin Français de Mâcon organizes the event, and the finish area in Davayé, with on-site food and refreshments, serves as a gathering point for the weekend.
