Big Pilgrimage is a mixed-terrain, point-to-point race in Hampshire. It begins at Mayflower Park in Southampton. Participants can select a 15-mile route or a marathon. Both routes follow the initial section of The Old Way, a pilgrim trail that runs from Southampton towards Canterbury.
The course utilizes coastal and countryside trails, not a closed-road city circuit. The 15-mile race concludes at the medieval ruins of Titchfield Abbey. The marathon extends to Boundary Oak School, located just outside Wickham. The Old Way provides the event's unique feature: the trail was recently identified on the Gough Map, Britain's oldest road map, which dates to approximately 1360.
