The Deep North Run is an unofficial half marathon in Tyne & Wear, starting at Tynemouth Priory and finishing in Ouseburn, Newcastle. It begins at 9:00am and is organized as a relaxed, community-focused run, not one centered on competitive pressure.
The route follows the coast before joining the River Tyne, transitioning from coastal paths to urban riverside trails as it proceeds toward Newcastle. Participants receive practical race-day support, including app-based live tracking, timing, and an official time for everyone. Aid stations contribute to the low-pressure atmosphere with doughnuts and coffee, and the finish offers more coffee, another doughnut, and a social area for participants to gather post-run.
