The ECCA Open 100 is a 100-mile cycling time trial held in Cambridgeshire, organized by the Eastern Counties Cycling Association. It also functions as the ECCA Championship. Participants compete individually against the clock on the E2/100C course. This route is flat and fast, known among time triallists for enabling quick 100-mile times. The event begins very early due to time restrictions on the A14 trunk road, which the course utilizes.
The event is limited to 90 riders. It is open to individuals in Female and Open categories, with age groups for all ages. Riders may use time trial bikes, road bikes, or tricycles. Consequently, the participants range from specialist testers aiming for fast times to club riders pursuing a long-distance challenge, and those accumulating points for the RTTC British Best All Rounder competitions. The attraction is clear: 100 miles on a rapid course, presenting the discipline and pacing challenges that distinguish long time trials from mass-start road races.
