The Gargunnock Hill Race begins and ends in the Show Field at Gargunnock, near Stirling, coinciding with the Gargunnock Agricultural Show. This 7.5K hill race commences at 12:30pm, offering participants a concise lunchtime challenge rather than an extended period on the trails.
The race is integrated with the show; runners and their families may utilize the show's amenities, such as side attractions, vendors, performances, and a beer tent. The hill overlooking the site ascends to approximately 1,683 feet, with its southern aspect presenting an average gradient of 33%. From the summit, vistas extend towards the Firth of Forth, Stirling Castle, the Wallace Monument, and the Campsie Fells. The hill, known as Craig Leith or West Hill, is also associated with historical accounts of sheep grazing and peregrine falcons nesting on its rocky outcrops.
