Langstone & Portsmouth Coastal Half Marathons is a two-race coastal weekend on Hampshire's shoreline, held over Valentine's Weekend. The pair is made up of the Langstone Harbour Half and the Portsmouth Coastal Half, so runners can choose one half marathon or run both on back-to-back days. Langstone starts on Hayling Island, includes an optional ferry crossing, follows muddy trails around Langstone Harbour, and finishes at Eastney Point. Portsmouth starts and finishes beside South Parade Pier in Southsea, with a fast, flat route that loops around the eastern edge of Portsea Island.
The two races feel different enough to make the weekend more than a repeat run by the water. Langstone is the rougher half, with harbour trails, mud underfoot, sea views, and a point-to-point feel from Hayling Island to Eastney. Portsmouth is more road-and-promenade friendly, using the seafront and the edge of Portsea Island, with historic waterfront stretches and exposed coastal running. Runners who double up get the extra challenge of two half marathons in one weekend, plus a limited-edition bonus medal called the Double Trouble Valentine Medal.
