The Raynedeer Run is a pre-Christmas trail race held annually. Runners can select from 5 km, 10 km, half marathon, marathon, or a 6-hour challenge. This event, now in its eighth year, consistently sells out. The course is traffic-free, set on hard-packed trail, and consists of repeated out-and-back laps, appealing to those who prefer a straightforward, predictable route with frequent support access.
Each lap measures 5.3 km; completing four laps constitutes a half marathon, and eight laps make up the marathon. Participants in the 6-hour event can continue for as many laps as they complete within the allotted time. An aid station is positioned at the end of each lap, offering flapjacks, fruit, nuts, water, and squash, with options for runners to use their own drop bags. To minimize plastic waste, the race is cupless, requiring all participants to bring a reusable cup, soft flask, or similar container. The event is UKA affiliated, permitted by the TRA, counts towards the 100 Marathon Club, and provides finishers with a unique medal.
