The Summer 10K is a low-tide beach race held at Anastasia State Park in St. Augustine, Florida. Both the 10K and 5K begin at 8:15 AM. The park, located on the Atlantic side of town, features over 4 miles of beach, making it primarily a sand run with a short paved section at the conclusion. Don’s Friends presents the event, which benefits Don’s Friends and Friends of Anastasia. This marks the 23rd year for the race.
The 10K course begins on hard-packed sand near the Island Beach Shop. It proceeds north for approximately 2.8 miles before turning back and transitioning to pavement for the final 0.4 miles. The 5K run/walk follows a similar beach route, heading north for about 1.3 miles before returning and also concluding on a short paved section. Participants should anticipate sand, uneven terrain, and mixed pavement, with ample water stations available. Anastasia State Park is a known sea turtle nesting site, a theme reflected in the annual sea turtle shirt design. These shirts are so sought after that a 0.0K option exists for those solely interested in the merchandise. Don’s Friends integrated its former St. Augustine Beach Pier 5K into Endless Summer over ten years ago, and the event has generated more than $300,000 in recent years.
