Heroes' Square provides a start-line setting that makes you stand a little taller before the gun. This is a night race through the “most beautiful streets of the city,” with runners heading onto Andrássy Avenue, a grand old boulevard on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The event has more of a special night out than a standard road race feel.
The draw is running under lights, not chasing a challenging course profile. There are solo options plus pair and trio formats, so you’ll see couples, friends splitting the work, and families making a night of it; the shorter option is even billed as “10 km in the Light.” Afterward, the course points runners toward St. Stephen’s Basilica, Buda Castle, and the thermal baths, which sounds appropriate for tired legs after a city run with its own style.
