From Nagymaros's Fő tér, the VIII Dunakanyar Half Marathon enters a river bend that explains runners' autumn return. It carries the spirit of "Hungary's iconic autumn half marathon": local, runner-centric, and centered on the "stunning Danube panorama" instead of city streets.
The course follows an asphalt bike path alongside the Danube. Longer distances turn at Zebegény before returning to Fő tér for the finish. It attracts runners organized by runners, offering a season-ending community atmosphere. The eco-friendly setup is significant: no plastic cups or PET bottles, sorted waste collection, and a prompt to use personal cups or bottles at aid stations.
