The Balaton Uplands' prominent hills form the core of this event: Badacsony, Tóti-hegy, Csobánc, Gulács, Szent György-hegy, and the rocky Kőtenger provide the Hello Balaton Trail with a solid volcanic foundation. It presents as a trail runner-conceived event, not a slick road race, emphasizing "hidden paths," vineyard inclines yielding "volcanic nectar," and ascents that challenge even seasoned trail runners.
The course includes steep ascents up locations such as Csobánc, Köves-hegy, and Kopasz-hegy, followed by quicker contour trails offering views of the autumn Balaton Uplands. The extended distances connect castle remnants, chapels, the Basalt Organs, Rózsakő, Bujdosók-lépcsője, Ranolder-kereszt, Kisfaludy-kilátó, and Kőkapu; on Kőtenger, "plenty of stone will be present." A shorter option caters to beginners, while experienced trail runners also participate. The tree-planting initiative adds a unique, environmentally conscious aspect to the race.
