Zamárdi Szabadstrand is located directly on Balaton, with the run course utilizing one of the lake’s finest shoreline sections. The dm Balaton Run originated from the Maratonman series and in 2022 was in its second year. It feels like a family running day rather than a competitive club race, featuring Kids’ Laps alongside the main races. Expect road running alongside the water, chip timing for adult races, and a finish that offers the small rewards runners appreciate: a finisher medal, dm refreshments, and a Mizuno event shirt with select packages. A “Negative Split Challenge” is available for those who enjoy making pacing a game. The cup-free setup encourages participants to bring their own, and adults can receive a free D24 alcohol-free beer post-race.
