Fővám tér becomes the starting area for the 9th PENNY Santa Run, where casual runners and families with young children don Santa suits before starting. The atmosphere is more of a festive walk than intense competition, although the event drew a large crowd: "the biggest field of all time," with record numbers of participants and a charity record achieved.
The start featured artificial snow, with all participants dressed as Santa from head to toe. The atmosphere was quite lively even before the run commenced. Onlookers, visitors, and residents lined the course to observe and capture images of the "spectacular race of red-clad runners." They applauded the bright red procession of runners as it advanced through the city center. New that year, participants also received a finisher medal upon completing the race.
