ASCESA is a bike-and-run adventure challenge in the mountains above Lake Idro and the Valle Sabbia area of Brescia, typically held over a late-May weekend. Participants select one of four routes and have 36 hours to reach every checkpoint on their chosen path. The distances are substantial: the Classic route spans 163 km with 5,000 m of elevation gain, the Half Track covers 100 km with 2,500 m, the Adventure option is 140 km with 5,000 m, and the run-only challenge is 66 km with 4,300 m.
The courses traverse the Valle Sabbia mountains overlooking Lake Idro, with checkpoints designated for food, rest, and overnight stays. The circuits feature Passo Maniva, Passo Baremone, Passo del Gaver, Presegno, and Monte Stino, meaning the race emphasizes long climbs and high elevations over a straightforward start-to-finish road course. Bike3lands organizes the event, and the format is suited for experienced mountain bikers, trail runners, and mixed-adventure racers accustomed to managing distance, elevation, and checkpoints across extended durations.
