The Bolca Eco Trail begins and ends at the Museum of Fossils of Bolca, located in the eastern Lessinia region northeast of Verona. This non-competitive trail running event takes place in June, organized by A.S.D. Valdalpone with assistance from the Municipality of Bolca and the Pro Loco of Vestenanova. Participants can select one of three courses: a 20 km UISP-approved trail featuring approximately 700 meters of elevation gain, alongside 11 km and 6 km FIASP-approved options. The event commences early in the morning, proceeds regardless of weather conditions, and includes a four-hour cut-off.
The courses incorporate a blend of dirt and asphalt surfaces, transitioning onto local trails and through woodlands surrounding Bolca and eastern Lessinia. The shorter routes are also suitable for recreational walks, welcoming both walkers and trail runners. This event is organized by the same A.S.D. Valdalpone that manages the Montefortiana, with a clear objective: to draw individuals from Verona and beyond into this less-traveled area of Lessinia, highlighting its fossil museum, forest paths, and mountain hamlets.
