DoloMyths Run is a skyrunning race weekend held in Canazei, within Italy’s Dolomites. The main Skyrace begins and ends in Piazza Marconi, located at 1,450 metres. This headline race takes place annually on the third Sunday in July, covering 22 km: 10 km uphill and 12 km downhill. It is listed on the International Skyrunning Federation calendar. The event also features shorter and longer trail races, an expo, technical briefings, and awards throughout the weekend in Canazei.
The Skyrace ascends from town towards Passo Pordoi, then climbs to Forcella Pordoi at 2,829 metres. Runners must pass this sole time gate within 1 hour 50 minutes. The course proceeds on a runnable high section towards Piz Boe at 3,152 metres before a steep, technical descent through Val Lasties to Pian Schiavaneis. The final 4 km follow trails and dirt roads back to Canazei. The entire course must be completed within 4 hours 15 minutes. Five aid stations will provide drinks, gels, bars, and fruit. The race originated in the late 1990s, with its first winners being Fabio Meraldi and Morena Paieri. Its list of past winners includes Kilian Jornet, indicating the caliber of athletes it attracts.
