Marathon de Palerme

The Marathon de Palerme begins at 9 a.m. from Via Libertà 47, near the main entrance of Palermo’s English Garden. This November road race in Palermo, Sicily’s capital, offers a full marathon, a half marathon, and a relay option for teams. The event highlights the city as much as the distance, sending runners through seaside views, old streets, and architecture that makes the route feel like a moving tour. The race has been held for over twenty editions and attracts more street-race participants than any other event in Southern Italy. Its motto is “RUN ART,” fitting for a marathon that incorporates Palermo’s cultural and architectural heritage into the experience. The course passes the Tyrrhenian Sea and concludes in the city center near Piazza Ruggero Settimo and the Teatro Politeama.
