Seiser Alm Half Marathon 2026

The Seiser Alm Half Marathon begins and ends in Compatsch on the Seiser Alm, Europe’s largest high-alpine meadow in the Dolomites. This 21-kilometer summer mountain race features 601 meters of elevation gain, presenting a greater challenge than a flat road half marathon. Participation is limited to one thousand runners, including professionals, club athletes, and recreational runners seeking a demanding alpine course over an urban one. The course crosses meadows and pastureland, utilizing gravel paths, asphalt sections, narrow mountain trails, and wooden bridges as it heads toward Ritsch Schwaige. It passes Hotel Icaro, the mountain station for the St. Ulrich cable car, and Rauchhütte before ascending to its highest point at 2,050 meters below Goldknopf, near Almrosenhütte. The return leg to Compatsch goes by way of Hotel Panorama and Laurinhütte. This event marks its 13th running, and the organizers hold a GreenEvent rating for their focus on economic, ecological, and social sustainability.
