The main event at Terres Monviso is the 100 Miglia Monviso, a 160 km mountain ultra covering 8,000 metres of elevation gain, beginning and ending in Saluzzo, within Italy’s Cuneo province. The series comprises a summer trail-running weekend in the Piedmont valleys surrounding Monviso. Shorter races are offered alongside the ultra, including the M50k, M20k, or Monviso Trail distances, and a 6.3 km vertical race. The trail races are recognized for the UTMB Index, providing runners seeking qualification points a concrete reason to schedule them.
The routes connect with the Terres Monviso Running Park, a marked network designed for those exploring the area by foot. Expect mountain paths, forests, cobbled lanes, medieval villages, and the logistical considerations typical of events involving numerous refuges and municipalities. The weekend attracts athletes from beyond Italy, alongside local participants, with spectators, associations, and regional groups integrated into the event. Fondazione Amleto Bertoni organizes the races, and timing is managed via the wedosport system.
