Trail Montagna Longa

Trail Montagna Longa is a trail race in Montelepre, Palermo, Sicily, with its main option at 22 km. The 22 km route has 1,017 m of climbing, marking it as a mountain-and-forest run. It is linked to the UTMB Index and is part of the Trail Sicilia Challenge CSI Sicilia, placing it within the regional trail calendar. The race is scheduled for early July, with a single morning start following bib pickup and a course briefing. Runners gather at Piazzale Portella della Ginestra before starting on the natural trails around Montagna Longa. Previous editions included a 21 km race with 632 m of gain and 92 finishers, won in under 1 hour 51 minutes. A.S.D. Runners Montelepre organizes the event, led by president Vincenzo Ioco, with support from the municipalities of Montelepre and Carini. The event follows a local trail gathering format: bib collection, route notes, the race, and final refreshments after rankings are finalized.
