The Erika Cup Yacht Race takes place in Gamagori, Japan, connected to Gamagori Port and the story of the Erika. It ranks among Japan's largest yacht races. Its public program features a free spectator boat on Sunday mornings, provided by Gamagori Sightseeing Steamboat, located south of Takeshima Aquarium.
The race commemorates the return of the Erika, a custom-built yacht that circumnavigated the globe, covering approximately 60,000 kilometers and visiting 26 countries before its arrival back in Japan at Gamagori Port. Spectators can view the race from a boat with a capacity of 350 people; a raffle will be held if demand exceeds this number. The weekend also offers a Saturday afternoon OP yacht experience for children, departing from the Laguna Ten Bosch Festival Market Water Stage and sailing in the adjacent ocean. Thirty spots are available via raffle if necessary.
