About
Leeuwenronde Kraggenburg is a small road run in and around Kraggenburg, a village in the Noordoostpolder area of Flevoland, Netherlands. It takes place in May during the evening. The main distances offered are 7 km, 14 km, and the half marathon. Children can participate in 2 km or 4 km races, making the event suitable for families and adults seeking a local competition. STEK organizes the run, and online registration is necessary because of the use of timing chips for results.
The course remains near Kraggenburg, structured as a compact regional race rather than a large city event. Participants include recreational runners from the village, those from outside Kraggenburg, and more experienced runners opting for longer distances. Previous editions featured staggered evening starts for the half marathon, shorter adult races, and youth runs, which kept the start area active but organized. Runners are issued a race number and a shoe chip upon registration; the chip can be returned at the finish line for a medal.
