The Verkerkloop is an annual running event in Zwijndrecht, Netherlands, typically held in May and organized by the Verkerk Groep. It features 5 km and 10 km races, with distinct categories for individual runners, company teams, schoolchildren, and younger children.
The route crosses residential areas of Zwijndrecht and the waterfront. Facilities such as changing rooms, toilets, water stations, music, and food stalls are available near the start and finish. The event originated as a race for Verkerk’s 50th anniversary, later incorporating an official 15 km road race. It was revived in the 1990s after a hiatus. A typical edition attracts approximately 1,422 individual runners, 102 corporate teams, over 1,018 children, and more than 130 volunteers. Its school run is notably one of the larger events of its kind in the Netherlands.
