Sparebanken Norge Terrengkarusellen Arendal/Grimstad is a trail-race series for individuals who wish to walk, jog, or run in the Arendal and Grimstad region, individually or with companions. The series is divided into spring and autumn sessions, comprising 16 races: 10 before summer and 6 afterward. Each race week offers access to the course from Tuesday midday through Thursday evening. Participants may opt for the Tuesday mass start or complete the route independently without timing. The Tuesday starts are separated into long and short courses, with the long course commencing first, followed by the short course a few minutes later.
The approach is functional: runners register via EQ Timing, select a short or long course, and can purchase a season pass with or without timing, or enter individual races. The broader local initiative also links with Ti på topp Arendal og Grimstad, a low-barrier activity program. In this program, participants use maps, route descriptions, and an app to record walks on routes varying in length, terrain, and difficulty. This fosters a wide outdoor participation culture in the area, ranging from timed trail races to self-directed walks, with businesses able to register teams and settle payments via a collective invoice.
