Backyard Ås is a backyard ultra held in Ås, Norway. The race begins in the morning with a straightforward rule: participants must complete a 6.7 km loop each hour, starting precisely on the hour. Any runner unable to make the next start is eliminated, and the competition continues until only one runner remains.
The loop follows trails within a natural area located approximately 30 minutes south of Oslo. This setting provides a trail endurance test near the capital, distinct from a city run. The event has a field limit, and past participants have represented Norwegian clubs including Lørenskog Løpeklubb, NTNUI DOGS, Hareid IL, Romerike Ultraløperklubb, and SKI IL FRIIDRETT. Recent top finishers have exceeded 160 km, with the winner reaching just over 181 km, signifying more than a full day of hourly loops.
